Karmic Love

Is it love, or destiny
or karmic retribution
that brought you to my door
Will it be love evermore
or is it just another lesson
to bring more pain, another love
that was never meant to be
but only meant to teach
or to resolve karma
damn karma
Can’t the universal guards see
we’re trying to stay in love down here
As difficult as it must be, to be
a guard in karmic-retribution training
they have to see that we, as humanity
need to love, and be loved
to feel free enough to trust
love
If we can’t be free to be truly in love
(without fear of yet another broken heart)
then how can we live our destiny
to the full extent of the law?
