Crying Tears in the Rain

Crying tears in the rain
where not a soul can see
my pain

Unless they look into my eyes,
but who’s looking?
My tear-stained cheeks
bear no disguise

Washed away from the rain
my tear-stained cheeks are clean again

The rain is lovely
dark and dreary
I don’t feel so lonely
when it’s raining

If not for the salt
upon my lips
I would not know myself
I were crying

Once again reminded
that these lips have not been grazed
by the tender kisses of another
they have not been ablaze
with the passions of a lover

Longed for moments
saved for yet another
stranger in the line

one without my destiny
one without my name
