Gratifying Sunset

Bring me the sunset in a cup
for tonight I shall dream
of the heavenly riches
in the dawning of the night

Purple for passion
pink for sweet love
orange for vibrance
all sparking above

but tonight, I drink them up
mixed with your sweet love
A heavenly potion
to quench my thirsty heart

This was written for a poetry challenge to write a poem using Emily Dickenson’s “Bring me the sunset in a cup” as the starting line.
