Longing for Me

Word Challenge: Write a 10-line poem starting with the line, “I wish I could remember”:

I wish I could remember
who I was before
what made me laugh,
what made me cry
what I once adored

I’m different now
in some ways, worse
than the me I was before
too much pain has come my way
and I can’t reverse the curse
